I can't decide what kind of editing my work needs.
Do you have any guidelines or suggestions to offer? Oftentimes, authors are too close to their own work to see where their manuscripts need work, so they seek professional opinions. Even the most experienced and published writers need help with basic line editing. Other types of editing involve issues such as manuscript flowability, correct formatting for a journal, and proper organization.
How is editing generally done
at Strategic Solutions, Inc.?
The first thing we do is to convert the
document into double-spaced format (if not already in this format) and read
through to check for proper organization. We then start making corrections.
Next, it is printed out on paper. The document is then marked-up by hand
using a red pen, and the corrections made to the electronic file. This latter
process is repeated again if necessary. It usually takes a minimum of two
editing cycles (and sometimes more) to do a thorough job. We then complete
the final electronic corrections and send the document back to you.
Why is ghostwriting so expensive?
Scientific papers or book chapters can take anywhere from 1-3 months
to write and properly edit. Basically, you are paying for an experienced
writer/editor who is versed in your subject, and can turn your ideas or
outline into compelling text.
I understand that Strategic Solutions, Inc.
offers a contract on many projects as an option. Why's that?
We offer a legal, binding contract
for several reasons. It spells out the details of the project: terms, conditions,
and deliverables. Mutual protection is given to the client and Strategic
Solutions, Inc. Moreover, should any dispute arise, it will be easier to
solve. Contracts are usually available on projects worth more than $1,500.
Does Strategic Solutions, Inc.
offer contracts for multiple or longer-term projects?
Absolutely. Most of these are what we call
"blanket" contracts, which cover an unlimited number of similar projects.
Does SSI engage in collaborative research with
other research groups?
Most certainly. Currently we are collaborating with several groups in
the areas of ophthalmology (cost-effectiveness and infectious diseases),
wound care, evidence-based medicine, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, eating disorders,
and obesity. We are open to discussion to collaboration in all areas of
medicine.
